Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals raises funds and awareness for 170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to kids across the U.S. and Canada. Donations stay local to fund critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $5 billion, most of it $1 at a time through the charity's Miracle Balloon icon. Its various fundraising partners and programs support the nonprofit’s mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital is our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, just 7 miles from LSU’s campus.  Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital is a 100 bed “hospital within a hospital” located on the third floor of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.  The call to serve children is unique, and the medical care required for pediatric patients is extremely specialized.  Kids are not just small adults; they require 40% more care than adults and should be treated by pediatric-trained physicians and nurses to ensure the highest quality of care in a warm, loving, and kid-friendly environment.

To ensure that Louisiana’s kids receive that care, Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital is currently building a freestanding children’s hospital located between Essen Lane and Bluebonnet Boulevard off of I-10.  The new hospital is set to open in 2019 with more than 350,000 square feet of patient care space, double the amount of surgical space and intensive care beds, expanded state of the art emergency department, and a playroom on every floor.  For information on the new freestanding children’s hospital, please visit,
